Title: Ugly Love
Author: Colleen Hoover
Series: Standalone
Genre: NA Contemporary Romance

What do you get when you put a new girl in town, a brooding pilot with a dark past, and an overprotective brother that thinks nobody will ever be good enough for his sister together? An amazing Colleen Hoover novel.

Ugly Love is very character driven. There wouldn’t be a story without the characters in this novel. Even the side characters play such an important role in this story that I came to want more from them as well. Corbin, Ian, and even ‘Capt’ fed so much into the story and created so much more depth that when put altogether it made each character more rounded and developed.

Tate Collins: New girl in town, moving in with her protective older brother. Starting nursing school while working part time as an RN. She is a hard worker and loves her family and is close to her brother. On her first day in her new apartment, there is a drunk man passed out on the floor in front of her door. Who else could this annoying man be other than her new neighbor.

Miles Archer: Tate’s new neighbor with a troubled past. He has come to terms with the fact that he will never love anyone ever again. He feels instant attraction to Tate but he avoids her because of course he’s no good for her.

Together they decide to form a “friends with benefits” relationship. They promise each other nothing more and nothing less than just… plain… sex. That is until one of them discovers they can’t keep their feelings out of the equation.

I love that ‘Capt.’ was like a behind the scenes mastermind that pulled Miles and Tate together. He might honestly be my favorite character of the entire novel. Also, Corbin was like a brother that I would love to have. He was protective but at the same time he just wanted the best for his sister.

This is my second Colleen Hoover book and while I didn’t love it as much as I did November 9, I still absolutely loved this book and it is one of my favorites of the year. I highly, highly recommend this book and pretty much any other Colleen Hoover book ever.
