I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.

I had a problem with this book right from the first chapter. I know this was marketed as erotica but I don’t care what situation a person is in, it is not okay to have sex with someone that you just met, in the middle of the night at a graveyard, who just killed a bunch of men right in front of you, even if he did it to save your life. I just couldn’t get past this one scene while reading the rest of the book.

Furthermore, the second time they met (where they had sex again) she decided she was in love. Who does that?

If you can get past this, the actual story is pretty okay. I liked Lucian’s brothers, they were fun, interesting, and I would like to learn more about them. Since this was the second book in the series I missed what happened in the first one but you don’t need to read them in order to understand what was happening. It could easily have been a standalone.

If you go into this realizing it is definitely an erotica and there is insta-lust then you could really enjoy this book. It was entertaining and I wanted to keep reading to see how it ended. I just think that it could have had a better beginning, it felt like it started in the middle.
